A Place To Call Home

A place to call home

Most likely you have never met or heard of Pancho, Griselda, and their two young children, Angel and Michelle. Yet, they know you. They know that you are generous, loving and compassionate. They have prayed for you for many years.

Pancho and Griselda live in Rosarito, Mexcio. Pancho works as a gas station attendant and Griselda, works at a nearby medical facility as a housekeeper. They lived in a run-down trailer that has no running water, bathroom, kitchen, or working front door, however, they still feel blessed to have a roof over their heads.

Pancho and Griselda went to work each day with humble smiles while their children studied hard in school in pursuit of attending a university. They prayed that God would continue to bless their family and that one day they would be able to own a home. This was their prayer for ten years.

This is where you come in. Because of the generosity of the people at Eastside, Pancho and Griselda received a house built just for them. Griselda, and her two young children,  helped participate in the finishing touches and painting of their very own home.

It’s really amazing what can happen over a long weekend. Not only were the lives of Pancho and Grieslda’s family changed forever, but the many people and families who served to assemble the home returned to the United States with a renewed sense of purpose.

Eastside has partnered with Tijuana Christian Mission for more than twenty years. Together they dreamed about a property where the orphanage could unleash compassion to their local neighbors. This allows Eastsiders to travel to serve in Rosarito many times through the year.

Through this partnership, Pancho and Griselda became the recipients of a new home.  The walls were constructed in Anaheim by Eastside church volunteers and then transported to Rosarito to finalize assembly.

More Eastsiders traveled down and spent a long weekend finishing the assembly of the house and Pancho and Griselda continually feel humbled to know God answered their prayers.

It’s really amazing what can happen over a long weekend. Not only were the lives of Pancho and Grieslda’s family changed forever, but the many people and families who served to assemble the home returned to the United States with a renewed sense of purpose.
