Alex shares her story of how volunteering in Irvine has made such a huge impact……
When Alex first came to Eastside, she wasn’t just looking for a church—she was looking for community. After attending Eastside Anaheim for several years, she and her husband, David, answered the call to help launch our Irvine campus, committing to serve for six months.
Three years later, they’re still faithfully serving.
As a Greeter, Alex loves welcoming people as they arrive each weekend, especially those visiting for the very first time.
“I’ve been able to get to know so many people and build community myself—friendships that I’m incredibly grateful for. Serving the Lord in this way has changed what going to church looks like for me.”
Because she serves regularly, Alex often recognizes when someone is new and takes the time to walk them into campus, introduce them to others, and help them feel at home.
One of her favorite moments is seeing those first-time guests come back and knowing they’ve found a place where they belong.
Serving has also transformed Alex’s own life.
“Eastside Irvine has given me a true church home and helped me grow closer to God. I’ve found community with people who love serving Jesus, built meaningful friendships, and now co-lead a Small Group where we continue encouraging one another throughout the week.”
When asked what she would tell someone considering becoming a Change Maker, her answer was simple:
“Becoming a Change Maker leads to so many more paths that become life-changing. It is an investment in your walk with God.”
