Gracie, Freshman
“Baja was honestly a life-changing experience! Meeting everyone at the orphanage and seeing how they lived really made me realize how much I have, and I am so much more grateful for everything I have. Also, seeing everyone praising the Lord, no matter what language, was awesome. It brought me closer to everyone I was on the trip with, and I now have life-long friends because of it. You grow so much with God and with other people, and it’s amazing! I will be forever grateful for this trip. It really opened my eyes.”

Elliott, Sophomore
“I am beyond grateful for my time in Baja with HSM. Being surrounded by such an incredible community and witnessing God’s love in action was life-changing. Every moment, from deep conversations to acts of service, and serving each other reminded me of His grace. I went in not knowing what to expect, but I left with a heart full of gratitude, a family, and a deeper understanding of God. I couldn’t recommend this more – I would do it 100 times over!”

Katie, Freshman
“Going to Baja was one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. To be surrounded by such a loving community, getting off your phone, and being in the presence of God is life-changing. You learn to appreciate everything you have and all the people you’re around. You grow so much in God during that time as you learn to serve without cost as He once did, and loving with everything you have.”

Jayden, Junior
“Going with the HSM group down to Baja opened my eyes about myself. I was nervous about whether I would be able to meet new friends, and PRAISE GOD, I was wrong! Instead of friends, God has given me FAMILY. Thank you, Eastside, for this incredible experience!”

Violette, Freshman
“I am so thankful I was able to go to Baja, Mexico with HSM! It showed me that no matter what culture, language, or atmosphere we are in, we can praise God. Baja showed me so much about myself and others. Everyone made so many new friendships, memories, and most importantly, a better relationship with God. I will forever be grateful for being able to go to Baja, Mexico, with HSM!”

Last week, HSM traveled down to Baja, Mexico, as a group of 43 Students and Leaders from Anaheim and Park Rapids to support the City of Refuge, the orphanage that Eastside has had a partnership with for over 25 years. They delivered bags of food and prayers to locals in need, completed three separate cement projects, and hosted an outreach event for the orphanage and its surrounding community, serving over 300 hot dogs!
