If The Shoe Fits Week 3 Louis Vitton

series overview

What do our shoes say about us? Whether it’s a pair of work-boots, crocs, flip-flops, loafers, vans, or soccer cleats – each scuff, detail, and well-worn sole provides a glimpse into who we are and where we’re going. We invite you to join us on this journey as we step into the shoes of those whose lives were touched by Jesus. Let their stories fill you with hope and inspire us all to live with courage and purpose.

Share a time when you went out of your way to see or meet someone you admired or a celebrity. What did you do when you saw them? How did it feel?

DISCUSSion

Select 3-4 questions from the list below to guide your discussion time.

  1. Read Luke 19:1-4. Why do you think Zacchaeus was so eager to see Jesus that he climbed a tree? Have you ever felt a similar curiosity or longing to know more about Jesus? Share your experience.

  2. Read Luke 19:5-7. Have you ever felt God leading you to build a relationship with someone at the expense of people’s opinion of you? What did it cost you? Would you pay that cost again if the opportunity presented itself? Is there anybody in this category right now that God is calling you to come alongside?

  3. Read Luke 19:8. Are there areas in your life where you need to make amends or seek forgiveness? How can you take steps towards that? If you have ever done that, share the story and how it played out.

  4. Read Luke 19:9-10. Share a time when someone saw potential in you that you didn’t see in yourself. How did that impact you?

  5. What is your assessment of the Looking Glass Principle that Jodi shared: “A person becomes what he or she perceives the most significant people in their life think about them.”  Has that rung true in your life? Does it ring true right now? What shifts or changes might God want you to make in light of this principle?
