Why Should I have A Living Trust
Jason shares his story…..
“When Jason and Sarah realized their estate was not what they wanted should something happen and they die, they decided the best course of action was to create a living trust. “We had a will created when our first son was born, but we learned that a living trust allowed us to make better decisions during different phases of our life,” explained Jason. “The living trust allows us to make adjustments, but the best part is we know that our family’s finances and assets are set to our wishes.”
Creating a living trust provided several benefits:
- Privacy and Control: Unlike a will, their trust remains private and allows them to maintain control over assets during their lifetime.
- Avoiding Probate: The trust ensures a smoother transfer to beneficiaries, bypassing the lengthy probate process.
- Flexibility: They can amend the trust as their family’s needs change.
- Tax Planning: The trust structure offers potential tax benefits for their estate.
Most importantly, Jason and Sarah now have peace of mind knowing their children’s future is secured. “It’s about making sure our boys don’t have to wonder what we would want, even if we’re not here,” Jason reflected.
