Stella gets baptized
Finding community

Here is what Stella had to say about her decision to be baptized:
During the pandemic, my family’s spiritual journey took an unexpected turn when my parents discovered Eastside online. What began as simply watching virtual services from home soon became a meaningful connection to a new faith community.
I remember the moment clearly. At the end of one particular service, Gene talked about saying “yes” to God. Something stirred inside me, and I suddenly thought, “I want to get baptized.” It wasn’t a complicated decision—it felt natural and right, like the next step I needed to take.
Then I started attending Junior High Ministry (JHM). The welcoming environment and genuine discussions made a deep impression on me. Our small groups didn’t just talk about Bible stories; we discussed real-life situations that matter to teenagers like me—topics like anxiety, navigating friendships, and dealing with peer pressure.
The supportive atmosphere of JHM gave me the confidence to take a bold step. I reached out to Montana, Eastside’s Junior High Associate, and asked if she would baptize me—a simple setting for a profound moment in my faith journey.
What I appreciate most about my experience with Eastside and JHM is how they meet young people exactly where we are. Whether you’re just curious about faith or ready to make a commitment like baptism, there’s a place for you to belong, ask questions, and grow.
