An Interview with Albert & Deidre Pujols

Gene sat down and talked with Albert and Deidre Pujols. Albert is an Angel’s player, but he and Deidre are active in their community. Albert shared that he lives his life based on the priority of faith, family and career. How would your life align with those priorities? What changes could you make to put faith and family first in your life? What would the impact be on your life and family?
Have someone read Philippians 4:6-7. Deidre shared that the Bible is given to us to shape our character and gives us the instructions for how to do that. She turned to God after giving birth to Bella, who had Down Syndrome She realized she had a choice to trust God or forget Him. She said, “in difficult situation there is grace.” Is there a difficult situation you are facing? How can you invite God into that space?
Have someone read Psalms 37:4-6. Albert shared that God is at the center of every decision they make. He said, “If we allow God to help us, we know it’s going to work.” What areas are easy for you trust God with? Share one area you need to allow God to be at the center of.
The mission of the Pujols Family Foundation is to live and share our commitment to faith, family and others. Deidre has said her favorite verse is Luke 12:48. Have someone read the passage.
She said that money never bought her a day of happiness, won’t buy your way out of a challenge and that true joy is in Christ. Identify an area in your life that you once believed money might solve? How are you handling what God has given you? Where do you need to experience true joy in Christ?
Albert said, “when you go through challenge in life, it makes you better so you can bless others.” They have given back through their foundation but we can all give back, regardless of our bank accounts. Each of us has challenges and struggles. Where might God be calling you to use your life experience to bless others?
Diedre invited Albert to join her at church and through that he became of follower of Jesus. Who in your life needs to hear about Jesus?

Break into groups of 2-3 and pray for courage to live a life of faith and family first. Pray for the people in your life who need to hear about Jesus.
