what our interns are saying

“I not only grew as a person, but as a leader. I got to experience hands-on ministry and challenges that are impossible to gain from college. I personally was challenged in my faith and was given opportunities and safe places to fail, be encouraged, and do better…”

Madison Cass

Worship Intern

"...If it weren’t for this internship, I wouldn’t have made the relationships I needed to help me with the church plant I’m involved in now...Eastside’s High School Ministry Internship gave me the confidence I needed to confidently and boldly step into leading a ministry of my own."

Kellen Key

High School Ministry Intern

"My internship experience has impacted me first as a Christ follower, but also as a leader. I have grown through the stories and lessons of staff members, along with my fellow interns. This internship has given me wisdom to hold onto through my life journey."

Osvaldo Castillo

Young Adults Intern

“This internship set me up for my first full-time ministry job which I’m currently serving in. I would highly recommend interning at Eastside because of what you learn, how you learn it, and the people you learn it from.”

Zach Rutherford

Junior High Ministry Intern

"I got to be involved in many of the projects and daily tasks of the Communications Department. They cared about making me feel prepared for the real world. I am grateful for my time spent there!"

Sarah Printy

Graphic Design Intern

"This experience has shaped and molded me into the leader I am today. I jumped into the unknown of interning, but came out positively shaped in my ability to lead, learn, and dream about what God can do here at Eastside and in my life. Out of this one-year internship, I now have the courage to step into the unknown, but also have learned to fully trust that God can use you no matter how unequipped you may feel."

Taylor Gonzalez

Young Adults Intern

"When I first joined the team as an intern, I was unsure of if God could really use me. I wanted to stay behind the scenes, but never thought I would be capable on any kind of upfront leadership, or decision making...Because of my internship, I now trust God more radically, I am able to walk more boldly in my faith, and I know that I can be used as a mouthpiece for His Kingdom."

Sara Erb

Global Compassion Intern

"Every part of where I am in my life today began with my Eastside internship. I couldn't have asked for a better opportunity to learn about vocational ministry. Everything from weekend services, mid-week planning, development meetings, and the partnership with coaches, pastors, and other interns made being "in the trenches" the best training opportunity anyone looking to do ministry could ask for. If you feel even the slightest tug to apply, I highly recommend you put doubt aside and just go for it! See what God can do!"

Nathan Woodward

Kidside Intern

"When I first began the internship, I was slightly terrified for what I had just signed up for. My mentor saw more leadership in me than I knew I had, and he wanted to give me the opportunities and encouragement to unleash it in myself. I will forever be grateful for the growth I experienced, not only in ministry but also in who I am as a person and my faith as a whole during the internship."
