WARM UP

Begin with some conversation, checking in on how people are doing. You can talk about whatever you’d like, but here are a few potential questions to get the conversation going.

DISCUSSion
  1. What are some battles you are currently facing in your life? And how can you identify what you are fighting for and against?

What can you learn from the relationship between Rocky and Adonis in the movie, ‘Creed’ to help you face your own battles?

  2. Read 2 Timothy 6:11-12. How can you train your desires, instincts, and habits to be more like Jesus and focus on the inner fight within yourself?

What are some practical steps you can take to work on your inner fight and become more like Jesus?

  3. Read I Corinthians 9:25-27 In what areas of your life do you need to prepare and work on the small things to grow in character and face your battles?

How can you consistently work on these areas to overcome your challenges and win your battles through faith?

  4. Rocky says, ONE step at a time, ONE punch at a time, ONE round at a time.”  At Eastside, we often talk about taking the next step on our spiritual journey. List a few examples of the next steps people can take.
Where might God be calling you to take the next step?

  5. When Adonis is down, his fans and support system yell, “Get up, get up.”

What’s got you beat up, beat down, gut-punched, and feeling deflated and defeated? What are some ways you can actively seek out and engage in small groups and meaningful relationships to bolster your support system?
