Eastside Christian Church, along with Mission of Hope packed one million meals to help those struggling with food insecurity. Thank you to everyone that helped pack meals for those struggling with food insecurity and malnutrition! Together we did it — we packed 1 MILLION MEALS!
What do one million meals look like?
One million meals = 70 pallets or 4,630 boxes of food.
One million meals = 250,000 oatmeal meals, 350,000 mac and cheese meals, and 400,000 beans and rice meals. That’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a family of 4 for 2.5 lifetimes. Or, food for a year for 6,410 individuals!
One million meals will provide for 43 local organizations across all of our campuses, including Olive Crest, Building a Generation, Giving Children Hope, Kingdom Causes Bellflower, Park Rapids Food Shelf, The Salvation Army, Second Harvest Food Bank, Bellflower Unified School District, Placentia Yorba Linda School District, Pine Point Elementary and more! It wouldn’t have been possible without you, Eastside!
Erica Flora Director of Local Compassion at Eastside Christian Church shares, “We just minutes ago hit our goal of packing 1 million meals. Thousands of you jumped in to help pack meals. You were having fun, you were dancing. You didn’t forget the reason why we do this. And now, over the next couple of weeks, we know that families and children and individuals who are experiencing food insecurity and malnutrition are going to have a meal. They can simply add water, and enjoy something warm and nutritious. So from the bottom of my heart, from the bottom of Eastside’s heart, thank you for everything that you have done, You’ve come through for your community. And we can’t wait to see how God’s going to use these meals to make a difference and to bring hope, light, and love to those around where you live.”
