This fall we will be taking our young adults on an epic adventure right before school, life, and the fall kick-off.

compassion opportunities in july

Each week we are participating in serving our local neighbors and compassion partners. Eastside partners with local organizations in order to help serve people in our community. The partners we are working with this summer are focused on those without homes and who are food insecure. Each week there will be a tangible way for you to make a positive impact in the life of another. This is a great opportunity to bring a friend and serve locally.

You’ll have an opportunity during the month with your small group to build and create Welcome Home Kits for Mercy House. Provide someone with needed cleaning supplies.  These kits communicate support and hope to those finding themselves in difficult circumstances.vMercy House transforms lives through affordable housing.

We will be writing encouragement cards for the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army assists approximately 23 million Americans annually. They build local programs designed to offer immediate relief, short-term care, and long-term growth in the local community.

Directions: From State College Blvd, head west on E. Vermont Ave. Pass the park on your left, slow down and make a quick left down the alley. (look for our round “riverbed” sign) Follow the Redwood fence, make your first left, and you’ve arrived! Together we will assemble 200 City Net Care Kits!

Interactive Q+A with three local compassion partners discussing ways young adults can engage and serve those who are without homes and who are food insecure.
