After a thorough process, our Elders have confirmed and accepted two new people for our Elder Board. Colleen Livermore and Bill Hutchinson will begin serving a four-year term in August.

Colleen has been married to her husband Shawn for nine years, and they have two beautiful daughters, El and Hope. They began attending Eastside seven years ago.

She has a master’s degree in theological studies and has worked at Azusa Pacific University and Whittier Area Community Church. Most recently, she served on the Eastside staff as the Junior High Associate. While in that role, she mentored and equipped leaders to help them shepherd students, through development and curriculum. She loved seeing students come to faith, and grow in love for God and others. She also sought to promote biblical compassion and justice in the lives of students and leaders.

In a volunteer capacity, she has led and participated in numerous small groups. She has served in Guest Central, warmly welcoming newcomers to our church, leading table discussions in Next Steps, and leading campus tours. She has also enjoyed participating in compassion service opportunities.

Her personal mission statement is to glorify God by loving deeply, living courageously, and giving generously.

Bill Hutchinson

Bill Hutchinson has been married for 32 years to his wife Sharon, and they have two sons, Kiley and Billy, and a beautiful granddaughter named Ada. They began attending Eastside about twenty years ago.

Bill holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Cal State Fullerton and a Master of Arts degree in Leadership from St. Mary’s College of California. He retired from public service after 30 years at the Brea Police Department, finishing his career as Chief of Police.

While he was Eastside’s Director of Security, his goal was to ensure everyone who went to Eastside could enjoy uninterrupted time with the Lord, their family, and their friends.  He wanted our church body to feel safe and secure without any of the typical outward manifestations of a security team. The best compliment he ever heard was, “I had no idea you guys even existed, but I’m sure glad you’re here!”

Bill found that the Changemakers at Eastside are truly something special and he continues to contribute to Eastside’s mission in various volunteer roles including guest services, local and global compassion, build community, and guardian ministries
